More About Our Honoree
On October 19, 2023, I went to urgent care for back pain and left the hospital two days later diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. After considering various options, I chose Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Cancer Center for treatment. I trusted my doctors and nurses, and the partnership with The James Cancer Center at Ohio State University reassured me that my care would be collaborative and well-supported. After responding well to chemotherapy, my cancer has been stable on a maintenance drug regimen since July 2024.
A cancer diagnosis is life-changing, and no one should face it alone. The emotional, physical, and financial toll can be overwhelming, but the compassion and care I’ve received from my medical team, family, friends, and even strangers have made all the difference. I know every cancer journey is unique, and I’m proud to support the American Cancer Society’s mission to “save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.” I hope you will support these efforts as well.
